5 Favorite Fixer Upper Rugs
It’s party day! I’m joining my friends Debbie from Chatham Hill on the Lake, Lisa from The Purple Hydrangea, and Alysha from Elegance and Peonies as a cohost. We’re sharing our Favorite Fives every 3rd Wednesday of the month, so scroll all the way down to enter!
I gotta tell ya, Joanna Gaines is one busy chick! Just running her retail business and filming the show has got to be hectic enough – let alone designing furniture, developing a new paint line, writing a book, opening a bakery…and oh yeah, starting a magazine! Geesh, my head is spinning just thinking about all she’s got going on.
But honestly, she does it so well. And I am truly happy for her and Chip & the kiddos. God has truly blessed them and, in return, I believe they are being a huge blessing to others. The economic impact of their businesses in Waco has provided so many new opportunities for that community and its residents.
But I digress… I’m here today to talk about another of her new ventures: RUGS!
Adding a stylish rug to your space can really be that key ingredient that helps bring everything else together. Check out all the texture going on up there – love! So in no particular order, here are my 5 favorite…

The ‘Emmie Kay’ is gorgeous too! Also available in a orange persimmon color perfect for fall.
Inspired by traditional Nordic sweater motifs, this delicate, reversible rug is hand-woven in rich wool and brings a touch of Scandinavian sophistication to any interior space.

Loloi x Magnolia Home ‘Kivi’
The ‘Kivi’ comes in multiple colorways as well and would look great in multiple settings.
Power loomed with layers of distressed patterns and pops of color, this intricate, durable area rug, takes inspiration from antique Persian carpets and modernizes the look for today’s homes.

And here’s an actual picture I took of the Kivi sample when I visited a Magnolia Home showroom this summer. They had some awesome fixer upper rugs:
Loloi x Magnolia Home ‘Ella Rose’
The ‘Ella Rose’ collection combines subtle floral patterns with soft muted colors – it’s hard to choose but I think this line is my absolute favorite!
This intentionally faded, power-loomed rug offers a modern interpretation of traditional Persian styles for a design accent that’s simultaneously vintage and contemporary.

I absolutely love the Ella Rose rug. Actually, they are all beautiful. 🙂
I know right? I really need a rug for our family room and my bedroom. It will be hard to narrow it down!
Christy, don’t forget their bed&breakfast or what I would call a vacation home! I cannot even imagine all of that plus their children which they were homeschooling. I have no idea how they do it all but sometimes we thrive when we find our perfect niche. The rugs are great and so glad you showcased them here!
you’re right Debbie, I forgot the b&b! I can’t even imagine doing half of what they do, but I think the reason America loves them so much is they are HUMBLE and down to earth. I don’t think there’s a fake bone in their body. They are true and genuine and that’s why we all relate so well. Have a great week, my friend!
Are they really homeschooling? Do you know that for sure? They are wonderful parents and real role models!
I’m not sure if they are still homeschooling or not. I know they were, but I don’t know how their current schedule plays into things. They may have hired a tutor to help out, but I can’t confirm anything. Yes, I definitely agree – they are great parents and role models. They also still seem so humble and down to earth – it’s great to see that fame hasn’t taken it’s toll.
I love the brushstroke rug for the colours.
yes, those are gorgeous colors! thanks for visiting Claire 🙂
Christy,
Thanks for sharing the beautiful colors of the Ella Rose series. The Ella Rose pewter sample shown looks quite different than the shade shown for the same product on the Magnolia website. I’m debating between the pewter and neutral and am trying to get a good feel for the dominant colors.
Again, thank you for your thoughts and pictures.
Hi Ruth, unfortunately it’s been so long since I’ve seen these in person I don’t remember what the dominant colors are. If you have a Pier One Imports near you, I think they carry samples of the rugs. Hope this helps!
Hello – random but I’m wondering if you have any idea where the chairs are from that are pictured in the lotus rug picture? I have tried to find similar chairs everywhere with no luck. Any help would be much appreciated!
I’m sorry but I don’t know where those chairs are from. If I find out, I’ll let you know!
