Favorite Light Fixtures for Fixer Upper Style
Welcome back to my How to Add Fixer Upper Style to your home series. If you’re new to the series please check out my previous posts: Series Intro, Kitchen Decor, Open Shelves, & Paint Colors. Today we are talking about one of my very favorite ways to personalize your home: LIGHTING! And I’m super excited to share where to find some awesome fixer upper lighting.
Adding new light fixtures can dramatically change the look and feel of your home; and they don’t have to cost an arm and leg! Today, however, I am focusing on some of the popular light fixtures Joanna Gaines likes to use. She loves to use unique lighting in her designs on Fixer Upper that aren’t always easy to find. Flush mounts have come a loooong way – so get rid of those boring boob lights and upgrade your light fixtures for a quick and easy way to bring Fixer Upper style to your home!

And here’s another great fixture that I get asked a lot about:
As you can see, some of the lights she likes to use are pretty pricey. But they make such a dramatic impact in her designs, saving up for an awesome light fixture might just be worth it 😉 I mean can you imagine how different this room would look without this awesome light?

I’ve wanted a light like #11 for my entry for a while now, but have a hard time spending that much $$$. Maybe, if I’d win the target gift card, I’d buy groceries at target and then put the $$$ to the light!!! 🙂
Sounds like a plan! LOL 🙂 What size of light did you need? I also found this similar version at Home Depot: http://fave.co/1KSlgSR for $330 but it’s a little smaller.
Have you been able to find #11 or #12 in stock anywhere?
Hi Kenzi – I found them at One Kings Lane for a decent price: http://rstyle.me/~8TcAn (that’s my affiliate link) Hope this helps, and thanks for reading 🙂
Our church stairwell needs updating in the light fixture area. We need good lighting that reflects up and down or a strong system that lights down because it seems dull. The sconces are affixed to the wall and there are 2. Are there any cool sconces that you would recommend or any websites to look at ? There is also the possibility of having something hang from the ceiling and having an electrition wire the ceiling. That is more labor intensive.
Signed,
This little light of mine !
I like every single one of these. I think I need more rooms in my house!
I know, right? My problem is I’m so indecisive, I can’t make a decision! We’re flipping a house and I need to pick all new light fixtures, but I can’t decide which ones I like best (that also fit in my hubby’s very tiny budget, lol!) Thanks for visiting 🙂
I love how much character good light fixtures can add to a space! Someday I want an old rustic chandler. 🙂
sounds dreamy Nathana! thanks for stopping by – great seeing you on the Peony Group. I just joined and it looks like a fun bunch!
These are all great! I need to update my dining room light & these are great choices! Thanks for all the helpful info all in one place!
Thanks for stopping by Kim! I need to find some new lights too but it’s so hard to decide!
I would very much like to purchase light fixture #2 from Joanna’s favorite lights. How do I go about getting more info to order it??? Please!
I sent you an email 🙂
Looking for a floor lamp similar to the one in #3 – do you have any suggestions?
Hi Jennifer – unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find many similar floor lamps in that design. I did find this one from wayfair but it’s not exact: http://fave.co/1V5C3p5. Restoration Hardware has some nice floor lamps too – but they are super expensive. Good luck with your search and thanks for stopping by!
I would like to purchase the Fixer Upper crystal ball light fixture as shown in the Barrett house nursery. Can you help?
Hi Stella, I believe you can get that light from here: http://www.oldworldantieks.com/lighting Thanks for reading 🙂
I would like more info on how to purchase #13.
Lynne, you can click on the #13 link provided in the post or find more info on that light fixture here: http://amzn.to/2dt6APG I personally love that fixture too and am considering it for our dining room. So pretty! Hope this helps, and thanks for stopping by 🙂 xo, Christy

Hi there! I was wondering if you can help me…I am looking EVERYWHERE for the living room light Joanna usd on season 3 episode 3. It’s a candle chandelier with some beading…any hints on where I could find it? Thank you so much…
Hi Lisa, unfortunately that fixture is from Restoration Hardware and no longer available. But I did find a similar version from wayfair here: http://fave.co/2eGEwsp thanks for reading my blog 🙂
We just watched the “Midcentury Mod-estly Priced House”, Season 4, Episode 2, and find the island/table lighting to be very unique. Do you know if the pendants are sold individually and/or where this unique lighting fixture is sold?
Hi Debbie – I’m actually working on a post about those light fixtures today so stay tuned 🙂
Hello there, enjoying your site. Do you know where Jo gets her curtains? Please help!
Hi Suzanne, are there certain curtains in particular that you’re looking for? I know she gets them at various places like Pottery Barn, West Elm, Target and Ikea. If you have a picture or link to show me which one’s you’re looking for, I may be able to help track them down. You can contact me via email from the navigation bar at the top of my blog. Have a great night!
Please tell me about the two rocking chairs on the porch of the Magnolia Farm House.
Sorry Patty, but I don’t have any info on the rocking chairs.
any idea where the bronze chandelier is from on season 3 episode 17 carriage house. Ive scoured the internet and can’t seem to find it!
Hi Jenny – the light over the dining table is from Home Depot 🙂
Hi The Harper House
I have a ranch that was built in 1952 that has a hip roof and 8 foot ceilings. Any suggestions for lighting fixtures for the total gut reno? Most of the fixtures that I love seemingly are attached to high ceilings. I know that most probably aren’t because it seems as most of the homes on Fixer Upper are older homes. Thank you so much for your help.
Hi Tammy – sounds like you need some good flush mounts or semi-flush mounts. I am hoping to do a roundup post of these soon, so stay tuned 🙂 Until then, you can try looking on Amazon: http://amzn.to/2sAGXTJ or Wayfair: http://fave.co/2sASClC or http://fave.co/2taywf2 . Hope this helps!
Do you have any information about the flooring, that was used in the doggie spa in the Cargo Boat House episode of Fixer Upper?
Lookong for wrought iron light fixture over dining room table in Chicken House in Waco on 3/22/16 show. Thank you.

Love your blog! Would you happen to know where she got the kitchen island lights for the episode of the “hot sauce house”? Love their size and rustic charm.
Hi Hannah – she got those lights from Pottery Barn (aren’t they fabulous?!) Here’s a link: http://rstyle.me/n/ctcppmb69h7 Thanks for reading 🙂
You can find these in the pottery barn outlet in St. Louis right now for 60% off. Call them and I think they will ship them to you.

Hi! Looking for information for the drum chandelier, season 4, episode 3, plain gray ranch. Thanks!!
Hi Cindy – that drum chandelier is available at Shades of Light https://www.shadesoflight.com/products/springfield-linen-shade-chandelier-5-light
Hi Christy
Do you know who makes light #4. I. Saw this in an 18” size at a design house event near me but the light was already sold and they didn’t know who made it or if they would be getting more. They are available again on decor steals but they only have the 24”. I want 2 of the smaller size for over my kitchen island. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hi Kristin, I’m sorry I don’t know who makes that light fixture (and I didn’t even know it came in a smaller size!) I found this one that is similar and 21″ https://www.shadesoflight.com/products/faded-rustic-drum-cage-chandelier-6-light?via=57e1330169702d78ae0000a5%2C58fe15bf617070305e001444 Good luck with your search!
Hi Christy
Thanks for your reply. I went back to the design house event and they said they would have more of those lights in in March , so fingers crossed. I also found the 24” version on a site called Antique Farmhouse which has lots of fabulous stuff and that light is in stock there. It’s called the Savannah Iron Chandelier.
I’m now on the hunt for another light from episode 17 , the carriage house. It’s the cone shaped light that is over the desk area in the kitchen. I am trying to recreate this area in my new kitchen. I would love to find this light or something similar in black, since I used black hardware instead of copper. I’m going to try and make the chalkboard frame from leftover wood from my hardwood floors and hopefully I can find black chalkboard material on line. Thanks again.
looks like that sconce is from Restoration Hardware https://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod2111816&categoryId=cat10160023
I am trying to find these wooden lights from a fixer upper episode, can you help me? Using this web search: fixture upper wooden light fixtures
It should show you the twin lights Joanna used in one of her projects over a kitchen island. They are dark brown, wooden fixtures. Thanks
I found out that the lights I previously asked about are from Episode 03 – The Tree House, however I can’t locate these lights, please help, thanks.
Rustic looking wooden pendant lights.
Hi Paula, I think the lights you’re referring to can be found here at wayfair —-> https://rstyle.me/n/cxuycjb69h7 . Thanks for reading!

Thanks for this lighting feature. I really appreciate It!
I saw a beautiful chandelier from season 2, episode 3 – “A Craftsman Remodel for Coffeehouse Owners”. It is an empire or teardrop shape in black or bronze and hangs over a coffee table near the fireplace. Any clues as to where this may have been purchased? Thank you.
Hi Steve – I believe that chandelier is this one (available on Amazon) or there’s a cheaper 1 light version here. Or there’s similar versions at Restoration Hardware. Thanks for reading!
I actually loved the other chandeliers from that episode – “A Craftsman Remodel for Coffeehouse Owners” – but I was looking for the ones Joanna used in the kitchen and dining room. Any idea where they’re from? Thank you!!
I am building a new house. Looking for the black kitchen pendants over the island in the fixer upper Aguilar house. Have looked everywhere!!!
Hi Joy – those pendants are from Restoration Hardware: https://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod2700433&categoryId=search Good luck with your new house!
Hi! I am desperately searching for the magnolia home wooden beaded pillar candle holders (set of three) that have been discontinued. They are the chunkier set not the thinner set that is newer. Thank you so much!
Hi Karen – it looks like Pier 1 offers a very similar version of those candle holders. You can check them out here: https://rstyle.me/n/ddybwbb69h7 Hope this helps and thanks for reading my blog!
Do you know where to find the glass globe pendant lights with the bronze rim from the episode “making new family memories in rural texas”? I’ve found pictures but no luck where to find. Thanks!:)
