My 5 Favorite things to buy on Amazon
wow, I cannot believe it’s time for another Favorite Fives link party already! I’m joining my friends Debbie from Chatham Hill on the Lake and Lisa from The Purple Hydrangea as a cohost. We’re sharing our Favorite Fives every 3rd Wednesday of the month, so scroll all the way down to enter!
My 5 Favorite things to buy on Amazon
Since I’m a huge procrastinator, I end up doing a lot of last minute shopping on Amazon since I’m a Prime member and can use the free 2-day shipping (procrastinators, raise your hands!) Just today, my 10 year old daughter ordered several new pairs of shorts since she starts school this week and we haven’t had time to do much real life shopping.

The variety of things available on Amazon is seriously amazing. But sometimes, it’s a little hard to navigate since, well, there is SO MUCH AVAILABLE. So I thought I’d do a quick roundup of my 5 favorite things to buy on Amazon.

1. Home Decor
Biscuits & Gravy | Family Tree | Bread Box | Ladder
Wire Basket | Clock | Caddy | Chairs | Party Tub
Wow, I could do about 5 or 6 posts just on home decor and still not be able to cover it all! You can really find just about any farmhouse decor on Amazon that you can imagine! I am loving that aqua color and think scattering just a few pops of color around your home, can really make a huge impact!
2. Pillows
Pray Big | Love One Another | Arrows |Do All Things | Be Strong
Buffalo Check | LOVE | Seven | Deer | Hello | Bushel & Peck
Honestly, I’ve never bought pillows from Amazon before but wanted to check them out after seeing some cute ones pop up on Instagram and Pinterest. Geez! Where have I been?! There are some SERIOUS gorgeous pillows on Amazon! The ones I chose above are just a fraction of what’s available, but aren’t these so cute to add just the right amount of farmhouse flair to your home? And you will NOT believe the prices! Almost all of these are under $10 bucks! shut the front door. (ok, my daughter is rolling her eyes right now because no one says that anymore, but you get my point, right? mkay.)
Update: please note, that these are pillow covers. But if you already have other pillows, just slip those into these covers and you are all set. Still a great deal, as Pottery Barn pillow covers cost around $30-$50 bucks. So these are much cheaper but still super cute!
3. Lights
one | two | three | four | five
six | seven | eight | nine | ten
It really is amazing how much a great light fixture can change the entire look of your space. And they don’t have to cost a fortune either. Amazon has some really great options and most of them ship quickly, which is great when you’re in a hurry (or your husband keeps reminding you that you still haven’t chosen light fixtures for the hallway…ahem.)
Check out this post for more great lighting options – including the exact lights Joanna uses on Fixer Upper.
4. Books
The Inspired Room | Hand Lettering | Redeeming Love | How to Style Your Brand
Chalk Lettering | The Nesting Place | Coming Home | The Nightingale
I highly recommend any of these books above. The two fiction books Redeeming Love and The Nightingale are in my top five books I’ve ever read of all time. They are both such epic love stories – I truly loved them both. Coming Home is a compilation of southern style homes designed by my favorite architects, Historical Concepts. If you love architecture and design, you will definitely love this book. It has a prominent place on my coffee table. Check out some of my other favorite design books here.
5. Funny Gifts
Narwhal Shirt | Unicorn Farts | Baconopoly
Rubber Chicken Purse | Pickle Pops | Earwax Candle Kit
I am well known in my family for giving my nieces and nephews (and on occasion my in-laws too) “crazy gifts.” I have a pretty corny sense of humor (thanks Dad!) and like to take a little time to find something funny and memorable when giving gifts. Amazon is my perfect go-to when it comes to finding these!
I mean, who doesn’t need a narwhal shirt and rubber chicken purse, right? Actually, my daughter has both of these and absolutely loves them! Every time she takes her rubber chicken purse out and about, people stop her and comment on how cool it is. For an almost 13 year old, that is pure gold and makes me smile.
And just a note on the Earwax Candle Kit…it’s a fake! As in, it’s just a box that you put the real gift inside! So when people open your present, they’re not sure whether to be happy or disgusted. They have lots of different options… I used this Wake & Bake Dream Griddle to hide my in-laws’ real present last Christmas, and my kids and I were seriously crying it was SO FUNNY watching them open their gift!
So there you have my 5 Favorite Things to Buy on Amazon. I hope you liked them! Now let’s party!
Big shout out to Denise from My Thrifty House for her awesome post last month!

Oh my goodness….I am thrilled to be your featured post of the month. This link party is my absolute favorite and really motivates me to gather my favorites together each month. Thank you!!!
yay! so happy you enjoy our party Denise! xo, Christy
I love all your picks! I actually have that clock 🙂
Thanks Janice! I bet that clock makes an awesome focal point in your home!
Hi, just wanted to let you know that the pillows you posted about on here for under $10 are actually pillow covers not actual pillows.
thanks for pointing that out Jenna – I will edit my post to reflect that. But I still think they are such a steal as most of us have pillows already that we can just slip into these covers (or am I the only pillow addict with 10+ extra pillows hiding in my closet? LOL) thanks for visiting my blog! 🙂
I thought I already commented here, haha, you know how that goes because I don’t see it. Here is the fun part. I just bought that breadbox…though not in teal at the local Branson Kitchen store as a gift for my daughter-in-law to be yesterday. It also comes in red, cream, black and the cream with little words on it like croissant, bagel, etc and looks pretty vintage. She loved it!
I always love your selections. Great collection to inspire.
yay! Great minds think alike, lol! I bet you’re the coolest mother-in-law ever, Debbie 🙂 thanks for stopping by and have a great week, my friend!
Sounds like you are a great job with your family. Your story so closely resembles mine and depression is a horrible thing that absolutely controls your life and you live with no hope of the creativity you once took for granted. Stick to your guns with the I phone until she heads to college. We were strong with our first son but I will have to admit we faltered a bit with our youngest (but she still turned out okay). Have deep heart felt conversations with them when you are on a car ride alone and they can’t jump out. 🙂 Don’t be afraid to share your own stories, they need to know we are human too. I love your blog!! I am also letting my youngest daughter help me with the decorating process. I don’t always agree with her but it has been a great bonding experience.
aww, thanks so much for your sweet comment Lola. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. Depression is so hard, and it’s hard for people to understand what you’re going through when they haven’t experienced it themselves. It’s an invisible weight you’re constantly carrying around. But I’m so thankful God nudged me into this blogging world. It has literally given me my life back and I can write and connect to others and use my creativity again. I’m so blessed and thankful! I laughed out loud when I read your comment about talking to our kiddos in the car when they can’t jump out – so true!! LOL 🙂
